Which Pinterest links actually work

PinSaver reads one public Pin. The link checker on the home page says which kind of address you pasted, before any download starts.

Indian dishes, naan, and curry on a table — A pin.it link works when it points at one of those Pins.

Accepted

A Pin URL looks like pinterest.com/pin/ plus a long number. A slug in front of that number is still one Pin. Country hosts such as pinterest.co.uk or pinterest.fr are fine. A pin.it short link from the share sheet is fine too. PinSaver expands it when you download.

Video, image, GIF, story and Idea Pin all use that same Pin address. The tool page you open only changes which file is emphasised. The link is still one Pin.

Refused on purpose

A board URL has a username and a board name. It is a list. Open one Pin on the board and copy that Pin’s link. A profile is a username page. PinSaver does not collect avatars from it. Search results and the ideas feed are lists as well.

If a logged-out window cannot open the Pin, PinSaver cannot either. Private and secret Pins stay where they are.
