Public Pins and profile photos

A profile URL is not a photo file. If the picture was published as its own public Pin, that Pin link is what you paste.

A profile address is not a file. An avatar is not scraped from a username page.

People paste a profile address when they want the round picture at the top of that page. PinSaver does not collect avatars. A link like pinterest.com/someone is a profile, and it is rejected.

When a photo can be saved

Sometimes the same picture was also published as its own Pin. Open that Pin, copy its link, and paste it into the image downloader or the profile-photo page. You then get the sizes that Pin exposes, original first when it exists. JPG, PNG and WebP stay in the format that was uploaded.

Reusing someone’s photograph still needs their permission. A public Pin is not a licence. Private photos and profile pages are turned away, and PinSaver does not log into Pinterest to reach them.

If you only needed the cover of a video, use the thumbnail downloader on that video’s Pin link instead of hunting for a profile.
