What this is for
PinSaver exists for the moment you want a public Pin offline: a recipe before you start cooking, a reference for a lesson, a cover frame for a moodboard. You paste the link. The site reads the public page and gives you the file the creator already published.
How a download works
Your browser sends the link to PinSaver's own API. The API checks that it is a single Pin, follows pin.it short links when needed, and reads the public pin page. It does not use your Pinterest cookies and it does not log into an account. From that page it lists the video, image or GIF files, and your browser downloads the one you pick. The file is streamed to you. It is not added to a library.
What we will not do
PinSaver does not remove watermarks, does not upscale a small upload into a fake HD file, and does not download private or secret Pins. Boards and profiles are out of scope. The tool is not a scraper you point at someone's whole account.
Can
- Save a public video as the MP4 Pinterest published, audio included.
- Save an image at the original size when that file exists.
- Keep a GIF animated, with an MP4 option when Pinterest made one.
- List every public page of an Idea Pin, in order.
- Save a video's cover image.
- Run in any current browser, with no install and no account.
Cannot
- Open private boards or secret Pins.
- Download a whole board or a profile.
- Remove watermarks or captions burned into the file.
- Pull Pins from other platforms.
- Store a personal library for you to browse later.
- Grant you the right to republish someone else's work.
